sum 41 band punk asal canada yg beranggotakan deryck whibley (vocal/gitar), jason mccaslin (bass/back vocal), steve jocz (drum) dan additional lead gitar mereka tom thacker yg mengisi kekosongan lead gitar sejak dave baksh menundurkan diri pada tahun 2006 karena sudah tidak betah dgn genre yg diusung oleh sum 41..pada album yg pertama "half hour of power" sum 41 lagunya sangat punkkk bgt begitu juga di album "all killer no filler". namun di album "does this look infected?" dan "chuck" semua berubah total menjadi punk dgn nuansa heavy metal, mungkin ini terpengaruh oleh mantan gitarisnya dave baksh...dan di album "underclass hero" sum 41 kembali ke genre aslinya,sekarang lebih pop punk tanpa nuansa heavy metal lagi dgn lagu2 yg lebih apik dan lirik yg lebih mudah dicerna ya mungkin karena si dave baksh mengundurkan diri dari band ini dan membentuk band baru...
